Your Community School Teams
The central purpose of the CST is to provide programming and interventions for children and youth in three streams: academic support, social-emotional functioning, and community connectedness and engagement. Each team includes a Community Schools Coordinator, Teacher, Youth and Family Worker and Activity Programmer(s). These teams of professionals work in one or more “families of schools”, that is secondary school and its neighbouring elementary schools, to deliver in-school and out-of-school time programs and services. The CSTs offer a variety of programming including targeted small groups, universal access programs, and some large scale special events.
The Community Schools Teams are funded by an annual CommunityLINK grant from the Ministry of Education. Funding is also provided for specific initiatives through Foundations, Non-Governmental Organizations, Private donors, and other Provincial and Federal Ministries. The CSTs have many longstanding partnerships with a variety of community based organizations to deliver programming and services to students.
To find out more about programming offered by the Community Schools Team please contact your school's CST Coordinator by selecting your school from the map or list, and then selecting the contact tab.
